Blackberry Security Less Than The Best According To Top Executive

Posted on: January 12th, 2013

Blackberry SecurityAccording to the CEO of Blackberry, there are top-notch security providers in the electronics industry, but apparently Samsung is not one of them. Is that a cause for concern among consumers? Why isn’t Samsung Electronics offering its faithful followers the very best in technological security?

Blackberry like many electronics agents by Samsung, uses Android technology, which provides an open source platform. This by nature leaves itself open to various attacks. These may include malware attacks. BlackBerry however, continues to improve with each new upgrade, adding platforms that are designed to be as secure as possible given the nature of the system it was designed on.

Blackberry CEO says you have to lock down your system in order to keep it safe. The company is currently looking to improve security as much as possible, by focusing on other aspects of its technology and products. Just recently the company introduced Knox which is a security enhancement as part of a new type of telephone, the Galaxy S4.

Samsung products also offers tablets, which are purportedly safer and offer more security features than the Samsung telephones. The company suggests that security is not an issue with all users, and that there are other features they offer that users are more interested in, that help them cinch their market share.

What Makes A Loyal Customer Loyal

The government purportedly still invests in a high number of Blackberry’s. Is the Blackberry still good enough for some government agents? What makes this device safe enough for some officials but not safe enough for others?

Many argue that it does not matter whether a company uses an open or closed source. Either way, hackers will find a way to hack into a system. This is true. No matter what an electronics agent invests in, hackers will be up to the challenge. In fact, the more complicated the system, the more hackers will see this as an opportunity to perfect their skills.

Some people prefer one brand, and some prefer another. It is true that most people are loyal to a company in part because they prefer certain features over another. When it comes to security, it is best that a company has some security features, and works to upgrade them in some way over time. This is something that Blackberry has done. Because of that, they have continued to keep their loyal fans, and most likely will for the time being.
