The recent controversy over Edward Snowden’s revelation that the National Security Agency is recording and storing not only phone calls but emails and internet histories of each and every American man, woman and child has not ended. Millions of Americans are outraged at the invasions of privacy being carried out by the Obama Administration. It is a clear violation of a person’s rights as much of this material is gathered and stored prior to there ever being a warrant for their arrest.
People who utilize Google’s new Incognito Mode Chrome or Internet Explorer’s InPrivate Browsing may get a false sense of security that their identities remain anonymous as those products remove the user’s digital fingerprint from the device they are using. The problem is that the only ‘hiding’ that these users succeed in is in hiding their identity from everyone else who uses the same device. All of the websites they visit, the Internet Service Provider and yes, even the NSA all have a clear record via your IP address of where you went, what you said and when.
The use of one of the new cheap proxy servers’ service may just take the claws out of even NSA surveillance. This method of hiding IP identity is called U.S. Web Proxy and was released by idcloak.com. This new proxy erases a part of the data that can be used to track your identity. Like other proxies, this one replaces the user’s IP address with their own so that any site you visit only has a record of the servers from idcloak.com as having visited.
As it is the ISP’s that are collecting data for the NSA the only thing they will have to trace back leads to the idcloak.com website. The other advantage to using the US web proxy is the encryption that hides not only your IP address but the content of your communications with the destination computer. With enough Americans using this service, there will be little that the NSA can do in tracking people’s internet habits.
