Google has its own SEO starter guide available in a free PDF document on the Google webmaster tools page. With the Google Keyword Search guide, everything you need to know about ranking your site on Google is right there in black and white. Another tutorial is from Knight Digital Media Center. Optimizing images means inserting key words into the descriptions for pictures on your website.
This is done because there are still a great number of people who are on connection speeds that make pictures and graphics a long load time. Instead of putting a description of what is in the picture, one can incorporate key words into those descriptions so that your page is still ranked high, and so that even those with slow connections can see the words if they can’t see the pictures right away.
Search Engine Guide introduced their version of an online magazine entitled ‘SEO 101’ and has regular articles on title tags, meta words, and key word tags.
